San Francisco Ballet's Sasha De Sola to perform in BBT's Summer Breezes

 

Boca Ballet Theatre is pleased to announce the professional guest artist to appear in our mixed repertory performance Summer Breezes on August 2-3, 2025. San Francisco Ballet principal dancer Sasha De Sola will return to Boca Raton after her performance in BBT’s The Nutcracker in 2021. Born in Winter Park, Florida, Sasha De Sola trained at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C., on full merit scholarship.  In 2004, she was awarded a scholarship for studies at the Paris Opera Ballet School. Sasha later joined San Francisco Ballet, where she rose through the ranks and was promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer for the 2017 season. In 2020, she was appointed the Diane B. Wilsey Principal Dancer.

Sasha has danced many leading roles with the San Francisco Ballet, including Odette/Odile in Swan Lake; Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty; the titular role in Giselle; Kitri in Don Quixote; Manon in Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon; Cinderella in Christopher Wheeldon’s Cinderella; Raymonda in Tamara Rojo’s reimagining of the classic ballet, and Titania in George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She has originated featured roles in works by visionary choreographers like Christopher Wheeldon, Helgi Tomasson, Bridget Breiner, Val Caniparoli, Liam Scarlett, Yuri Possokhov, Myles Thatcher, Trey McIntyre, Nicolas Blanc, Arielle Smith, Stanton Welch, Danielle Rowe, and Dwight Rhoden.

Enjoy a refreshing assortment of classical and contemporary works at Boca Ballet Theatre’s performance of Summer Breezes on August 2-3, 2025. This mixed repertory concert will feature the Boca Ballet Theatre premieres of new works created and staged by Nick Mullikin, Artistic Director of Nashville Ballet, and James Sofranko, Artistic Director of Grand Rapids Ballet. Summer Breezes will also feature BBT legend Heather Fryxell’s staging of the classically-demanding and fiery Suite from Paquita.
