Cincinnati Ballet's Rafael Quenedit to join Sasha De Sola in BBT's "Summer Breezes"

Boca Ballet Theatre is thrilled to announce that principal dancer Rafael Quenedit of Cincinnati Ballet will perform as a featured guest artist in Stephen & Kim Lazarus present Summer Breezes on August 2-3, 2025! Rafael will join San Francisco Ballet principal dancer Sasha De Sola to star in Heather Fryxell’s staging of the fiery Suite from Paquita and other exciting works. Rafael Quenedit
Before joining the Cincinnati Ballet, Rafael danced with the National Ballet of Cuba, where he quickly ascended to the role of principal dancer. He began his training in 2006 in Cuba at Escuela Elemental de Ballet Alejo Carpentier, where he trained for five years. He then spent eight years training with the National Ballet School of Cuba. He graduated in 2014 and joined the National Ballet of Cuba as a corps de ballet dancer. Rafael was quickly cast in soloist and principal roles before being named principal dancer at the prestigious international company.
He has also worked with internationally-renowned choreographers including Alicia Alonso, Alexei Ratmansky, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Giuliano Peparini, Alberto Mendez, among others. Sharing his art with dance lovers around the world has been one of his passions. He has performed lead roles in the United States, Italy, Spain, France, Canada, Mexico and several others. Rafael has received numerous medals from renowned international ballet competitions. His principal roles with the National Ballet of Cuba include Sawn Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle, La Fille Mal Gardée, The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, Carmen, La Bayadere, Cinderella, and Theme & Variations.
Stephen & Kim Lazarus present Summer Breezes
Enjoy a refreshing assortment of classical and contemporary works at Boca Ballet Theatre’s performance of Summer Breezes on August 2-3, 2025. This mixed repertory concert will feature the Boca Ballet Theatre premieres of new works created and staged by Nashville Ballet’s Artistic Director Nick Mullikin, Grand Rapids Ballet’s Artistic Director James Sofranko, and choreographer Jerry Opdenaker. Summer Breezes will also feature BBT legend Heather Fryxell’s staging of the classically-demanding Suite from Paquita.
