Emily Bromberg and Lucas Segovia to star in BBT's The Nutcracker!
No holiday season is complete without the magic of The Nutcracker! As we prepare for this spectacular production over Thanksgiving weekend, we are thrilled to announce the principals dancers to star in this year’s show: returning BBT guest artists Emily Bromberg and Lucas Segovia. Emily and Lucas have an incredible history with some of the world’s top professional ballet companies and choreographers. We cannot wait to welcome them back to Boca Raton on November 27-29, 2026! Emily Bromberg grew up in Orlando, Florida, dancing at Rolann’s School of the Dance and Orlando Ballet. At 14 years old, Emily boarded at Kirov Academy of Ballet (Universal Ballet) for their academic year and summer on scholarship. She finished up her training at Boston Ballet School, where she danced with Boston Ballet company as a member of the corps de ballet. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Psychology in Providence and dancing principal roles with Festival Ballet Providence and Colorado Ballet, she moved to Miami, where she spent 11 years with Miami City Ballet as a principal soloist. Emily completed a season in Europe dancing principal roles with the Slovak National Theatre and is now dancing with Dimensions Dance Theater of Miami. While away in Europe, she served as ballet mistress for Ballet de Barcelona in Spain and has taught at Europa Ballett (Austria), Joffrey Ballet School, Unblanche Ballet (Japan), Next Generation Ballet, Tuscaloosa Community Dancers, Rolann's School of Dance, Miami City Ballet, Southern New Hampshire Ballet School, and Miami Dance Collective
Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lucas Segovia started dancing at age 16. Three years later, he joined Ballet Argentino as a soloist under Julio Bocca’s direction. By the end of the second season, he was promoted to Principal Dancer. Lucas has also danced with The Washington Ballet and Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company. For six seasons, he danced with The Joffrey Ballet, performing virtually the entire repertoire of the company as a soloist or principal dancer. Lucas has appeared in Drury Lane’s production of West Side Story, toured with the Broadway production of An American in Paris, and starred in the New York City Center production of Brigadoon. In March of 2018, he starred in the musical Oklahoma! as Dream Curly.Throughout his career, he has danced in more than 300 cities around the globe, performing in some of the most important venues for dance in the world and dancing pieces of some of the most relevant choreographers, such as Georges Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Alvin Ailey, Jirí Kylian, William Forsythe, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor, Alexei Ramansky and Twyla Tharp, among many others.
