BBT's "Sugar Plum Fairy Tea" ushers in the holidays with magic and merriment!

On November 1, 2025, Boca Ballet Theatre ushered in the holiday season at its second annual “Sugar Plum Fairy Tea” at the Dr. André​​ Fladell Civic Center​ in Delray Beach! Attendees shared scones, sandwiches, and smiles over hot tea, which was served in an array of unique teacups. While guests enjoyed their treats, BBT’s dancers cast a spell over the crowd with a live enactment of the Nutcracker story, which was narrated by BBT faculty member Dennis Lue and choreographed by O DANCE artistic director Jerry Opdenaker. This special performance provided just a taste of what’s to come in BBT’s production of The Nutcracker later this month!

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Honorary Chairs Olga & Roman Zhukov and Co-Chairs Lola & Madeline Swanson, who curated an afternoon to remember! Thank you also to the incredible efforts of our Volunteer Guild, who ensured our event was truly special. Finally, we are grateful to the many generous patrons who attended our tea party and bid on the many items featured in our silent auction. All proceeds from this year’s “Sugar Plum Fairy Tea” benefit Boca Ballet Theatre in its 35th Season of Dance!
