Incredible guest artists to take the stage in April's Spring Menagerie

 

We are less than a month away from Boca Ballet Theatre’s mixed-repertory concert Spring Menagerie, set to take place on April 20-21, 2024! As we count down the days, we’re excited to announce the guest artists to be featured in this spring’s works, including former Miami City Ballet dancers Emily Bromberg and Rainer Krenstetter, who will perform in Flower Festival in Genzano and the pas de deux from George Balanchine’s Diamonds. Emily Bromberg

Emily Bromberg grew up in Orlando, Florida, dancing at Rolann’s School of the Dance and Orlando Ballet. At 14 years old, Emily boarded at Kirov Academy of Ballet (Universal Ballet) for their academic year and summer on scholarship. She finished up her training at Boston Ballet School, where she danced with Boston Ballet company as a member of the corps de ballet.
After receiving her Bachelor’s in Psychology in Providence and dancing principal roles with Festival Ballet Providence and Colorado Ballet, she moved to Miami, where she spent 11 years with Miami City Ballet as a Principal Soloist.


Rainer Krenstetter

Rainer Krenstetter was born into a dance family in Vienna, where he began his ballet training at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera. In 1999, he was accepted into the Royal Ballet School in London and continued his training there until 2000 when he became a corps de ballet member with the Vienna State Opera Ballet. In 2002, he joined the Staatsballett Berlin under the direction of Vladimir Malakhov and was promoted through the ranks to Principal Dancer in 2013. He joined Miami City Ballet as a Principal Dancer in November 2014 and retired from the company in 2022.


Spring Menageries will also feature a special appearance by long-time BBT guest artist and former Joffrey Ballet principal Lucas Segovia, who will be rejoining BBT to star in Dan Guin’s From Me to You! Throughout his career, Lucas has danced in more than 350 cities around the globe, so we can’t wait to welcome him back to Boca this spring! Shannon Smith and Amanda Sewell will also delight as the Commandant and Head Mistress in Graduation Ball, a charming one-act narrative ballet set in a fashionable Viennese finishing school for girls. Our own Toby Lewellen will dancing in various works throughout the program.


Spring Menagerie

Join Boca Ballet Theatre for a menagerie of fun this spring! Spring Menagerie will feature Graduation Ball, a one-act theatrical ballet filled with young love, mischief, and comedy, as well as the light footwork and festive tarantella of crowd-favorite Bournonville Suite. You won’t want to miss this delightful evening of music and dance!
