About our workshops

Boca Ballet Theatre’s Summer Performance Workshops have earned a reputation for being the most thorough and rewarding dance experience a student can have during the summer, and many use it as a launching pad for a professional career in dance. Under the supervision of BBT’s Co-Artistic Directors Dan Guin and Jane Tyree, the program offers top quality teachers and master guest artistic directors from top conservatories and companies around the country.

Dancers in both the Intermediate and Advanced Summer Workshops will perform in a production of La Sylphide on July 27 and 28, 2024. This performance will feature principal guest artists from New York City Ballet.

Advanced Level

June 24 – July 28, 2024 (5 weeks)

BBT’s Advanced Summer Performance Workshop will feature five guest artistic directors from dance companies across the country. This year’s visiting directors are Zalman Raffael of Carolina Ballet, Nick Mullikin of Nashville Ballet, Brandon Ragland of Dayton Ballet, Devon Carney of Kansas City Ballet, and Nan Giordano of Giordano Dance Chicago. In addition to taking classes in ballet technique, pointe technique, variations, jazz, and modern, dancers will participate in dance enrichment sessions and speak to the visiting artistic directors during the “Meet the Director” lecture series. Students will also use classes to audition for our visiting directors.

Intermediate Level

July 1 – July 28, 2024 (4 Weeks)

Dancers in the Intermediate Summer Performance Workshop will take classes in ballet technique with either jazz, character, modern, or progressing ballet technique. Classes will be taught by both resident and guest faculty. Please note: students interested in taking classes with guest artistic directors should audition for the Advanced Performance Workshop. Dance enrichment sessions of the workshops will include question-and-answer sessions with professional dancers and discussions about careers in dance.
