Boca Ballet Theatre Announces
$75,000 Donation from Marleen Forkas
In Memory of Her Late Husband
(Boca Raton, FL – November 17, 2009) Dan Guin, Executive Director & Co-ArtisticDirector of Boca Ballet Theatre (BBT) today announced that the nonprofit arts and education organization is the recipient of a generous $75,000 donation from longtime supporter Marleen Forkas in honor of her late husband Harold Forkas.
“It was both a professional honor and a personal joy to work with Marleen & Harold Forkas for so many years,” said Guin. “Not only did they officially present our production of THE NUTCRACKER for 10 years in a row, but it was their original donation that enabled us to build this production, which has been the cornerstone of BBT’s success.”
“In fact, the amazing growth of Boca Ballet Theatre over the last decade in general, and the growing popularity of our ballet school in particular, is a direct result of their generosity,” added Guin. “There is a whole generation of young dancers in our area that owe their love of and dedication to ballet to the generosity of Marleen & Harold Forkas, and I am both touched and thrilled that their commitment to BBT’s ongoing growth and artistic excellence will continue.”
